Mac or PC?

Most of you know my addiction to everything Apple/Mac related (coming close to an Apple Evangelist :)), a dedicated MacCast listener and happy iPod & Mac mini owner (saving for that 17" MacBook Pro :)).

I love Apple's Get a Mac ads, they ARE hilarious...take some time and watch them all!

Mac or PC?

People even rap about it:

Yahoo News: "A man angry that he wasn't going to be sold a house is accused of using a power saw to turn the abode into a convertible."

Check out the video:

Microsoft/Google to buy in on Facebook

Wall Street Journal: "Microsoft is in talks to buy a minority stake in the popular social-networking Web site Facebook Inc., a sign of a new urgency by the software giant to jump-start its online business...But Microsoft must first outgun Google, which has also expressed strong interest in a Facebook stake, according to people familiar with the matter."

Hmm, this was in the news yesterday...I never realized the impact it would have when I decided to join Facebook last weekend...:)

Testing Facebook & Hyves

I decided to do a little test with the social networks I recently joined, Facebook and Hyves.

Main idea is to find out how well the networking (spreading) part in social networks really works when one takes a one-sided approach. I know many people on both platforms, so it will be interesting to see how my friendslist progresses while I won't add anyone, but instead will wait for them to find and add me.

I do realize that mentioning me joining both networks on my blog has alerted some people, so the test is not perfect...then again, one should start somewhere, right? :)

Current count is 1 friend on Facebook and 4 friends on Hyves...let's keep this test rolling for a week or two! :)

(ow, I've got 15 followers on twitter at the moment)

The ZeitGeist movie

A recommendation from Adam Curry in his latest Daily Source Code (DSC #665, closing in to evil #666!);

ZeitGeist the movie!

From their statement: 'Zeitgeist was created as a non-profit filmiac expression to inspire people to start looking at the world from a more critical perspective and to understand that very often things are not what the population at large think they are.'

Yeah, this will be an interesting thing to watch tonight...ow, besides this I'm also planning to watch Transformers...nice combination, eh? :)

Fall - new opportunities

Fall has started today, anxious to find out what this season will bring.

Besides the change in weather (a bit more a dutch winter feeling to it I assume), also a change in my work environment. A (needed and promising) restructuring will take place and my current position is not (yet?) listed on the organizational diagram...am very positive since new opportunities are on the horizon, exciting!

House for rent

While Kissy has been in NL this week, we had the first possible renters visitting our house there. Exciting...hope to hear more this week! In a way it will complete the move to Norway.

Anyone looking for a house in the area of The Hague can contact me! :)

Mail for Exchange

I installed the Mail for Exchange plugin for my Nokia E65, allowing me to download my work emails/contacts/agenda. It works like a charm...from now on I can work completely mobile! Uhmm, 24/7...is that a good thing? :)

I.M. Sindy & Juultje

Just created a movie for Sindy, Adam Curry's cat who died recently after being hit by a car...it reminds me a lot about Juultje, our cat who died the same way some years back, it sucks!

Find it here.

Home alone

I just dropped Kissy off at the airport, she'll be in NL for over a week...some parties she just 'had' to go to :), flying to Dubai Bahrein (work is tough :)), and...meet a potential renter for our house on Tuesday!! Fingers crossed!

Hmm, it's gonna be lonely in Norway again :(...it's good that the house has much more of a 'home' feeling now...and I've got internet and satellite TV, yeah, I'll survive! ;)

This is why I love RSS and my Google Reader...it keeps me up to date with *alllll* my friends (at least, the ones blogging :))...hey, it reunites people who are close and yet far away (and also suffering from bacn :)).

My best friend Mike blogged today about the Great Ocean Road trip he made, going from Adelaide to Melbourne. Great story, amazing pix...wish I was there with ya! Anyway, good to read/see/'hear' you're doing fine mate!

Terrible back pain

I guess the last weeks have been a bit too much for my back...I can't move back and forth (and yes, that IS a problem! hehe), have been in bed most of the day, damn! Will take it easy the coming days, not that I've got any choice...:(

Satellite TV

Hehe, glad I'm working in satellite communications; setting up our brand new satellite dish and pointing it to the correct satellite was eeeasyyy!! Didn't use any tools, except Google Earth to find South relative to the house!! ;)

Now enjoying dutch TV over satellite...the dutch soccer team is playing Bulgaria and Wesley Sneijder just scored 1-0, go Holland, yay!!

First day

Just had our first full day in Norway!

Slept in this morning (guess we needed it :)) and then went shopping in the afternoon...bought a washing machine at  'Elkjøp' and couldn't resist IKEA...the typical place to go for movers hehe

Willy and Katka came over for dinner and we just emptied a shitload of boxes...things are going great!

Party time!

Having the big farewell party today, around 80 people came this afternoon to say goodbye, another 100 are expected to come tonight (the theme is, not surprisingly: 'Norway'...so, let's go crazy!). We ordered 70 liters of beer, 35 liters of wine and there're enough softdrinks available...I guess everyone will enjoy themselves! :)
